Therapy Methods
We understand that effective online therapy must be as diverse as the people we serve. Our therapists are skilled in a variety of therapeutic approaches, each designed to address different aspects of mental health and personal growth.
DBT is effective for those who feel emotions very intensely. This therapy combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness largely derived from Buddhist meditative practice.
Narrative therapy is a respectful and non-blaming approach that centers people as the experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from individuals and assumes people have many skills, beliefs, values, commitments, and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives.
Mindfulness therapy teaches individuals how to focus their attention on the present moment, which helps reduce stress and promote relaxation. It is often used in various therapeutic practices to help improve overall mental health.
This therapy focuses on what clients want to achieve through therapy, rather than on past problems. Therapists guide clients to develop a vision of the future and offer support as they determine the skills, resources, and abilities needed to achieve that vision.
Attachment-focused therapy works primarily with clients to address attachment issues, helping them develop healthier relationships with others. It is based on the understanding that early relationships with caregivers can significantly influence your emotional health.
This approach to therapy takes into account the holistic understanding of trauma, recognizing the prevalence and impact of trauma and the complex paths to healing and recovery. It emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both providers and survivors.
